Job title/classification: Digital Communications Adviser - Electorate Officer (EOB)
Job type: 3 days per week (full time negotiable)/Ongoing

You are:
You are compassionate and hardworking people person, with demonstrated experience in politics, media and/or communications, and have great social media instincts.
Working closely with the Senator and across the team, you will be responsible for developing digital media strategies and implement them through content creation and distribution across digital platforms. Your work will be focussed on keeping the Victorian community up to date with Senator Stewart and the Government’s work.
You will be joining a small, highly motivated team of people who are driven by their Labor values, and love what they do.
We are looking for demonstrated experience in these fields:
- Social media planning and placement
- Graphic design
- Photography
- Copy writing
- Strategy and planning
- Digital media performance monitoring, reporting and analytics
- Digital advertising and placement
- Videography
- Familiarity with the Australian political landscape is desirable but not essential.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Strategic communications planning and content development across a range of digital platforms
- Creating engaging and communications content in a timely manner, including videos, images and other digital content.
- Assisting with the management and moderation of the Senator’s digital footprint including website content and social media.
- Development of other communications materials eg for newsletters, Parliamentary speeches
- Accompanying and representing the Senator at events, as required.
- Traveling to Canberra and within Victoria may be required.
Requirements, skills and experience
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly developed attention to detail and design.
- Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms and engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Highly motivated, be able to work independently and in a small team.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, plan, organise and prioritise work under pressure.
- Ability to Develop and maintain professional relationships with Minister’s Offices, key stakeholders and media.
- An expectation of flexibility and working of additional hours is necessary.
- A knowledge of government and previous experience in politics is desirable.
Employment Conditions
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023:
A salary of up to $73,098 (pro-rata) will be paid plus an allowance in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work. Employer contribution of 15.4% superannuation is also payable, as well as travel allowance for required overnight travel.
Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
A probationary period of three months applies and may be subject to extension.
