The Albanese Government is investing in a better and fairer education system.
I am excited to announce more than 1,300 Australian schools will benefit from a share of $32 million in grants to upgrade school infrastructure and equipment. A significant number of regional schools across Victoria's Loddon Mallee and Hume region will benefit from this funding boost.
The funding will be provided to schools for projects including:
- New or improved outdoor learning areas
- New or upgraded air conditioning
- Better ventilation; and
- New tablets and laptops.
The funding is part of a $250 million commitment to improve school infrastructure.
All schools across the country were invited to apply for the funding and projects were assessed by the Department of Education and selected based on need.
Schools were able to apply for grants of up to $25,000 to support much needed improvements to facilities and learning environments.
The Albanese Labor Government is delivering on our promise to invest in our schools and there is more to come.
